"Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?"— Isaiah 43:19 (ESV)
Devotional Reflection
God delights in new beginnings.
Isaiah’s words were spoken to a people tempted to define themselves by the past—by exile, regret, and former glory. Yet God says, “I am doing a new thing.” His renewal is not limited by what has been. It springs up in places long dry, breaking through where you least expect it.
A renewed mind is able to perceive the new thing God is doing—not because it has all the details, but because it trusts His character. Even when you cannot see it fully, you can believe that His Spirit is at work, preparing the ground for growth.
Let today mark the end of one month and the threshold of another. Let this be your moment to pause, breathe, and trust that God’s mercies will meet you tomorrow, as fresh as the dawn.
Inhale Truth, Exhale Trust
God is not done with your story. New things are already beginning.
Breath Prayer
Inhale: You are doing a new thing. Exhale: Help me see and receive it.
How to Practice a Breath Prayer
As you pray, picture the dry places of your life—areas that feel stagnant or hopeless. Imagine the Spirit pouring fresh water there. Let this prayer shape your anticipation for the days ahead.
Practical Application
Write down one thing you want to surrender from the past month, and one thing you want to receive as you step into the next. Offer both to God in prayer, trusting Him with what has been and what will be.
Journal Prompt
Where have I struggled to see God at work? How might He be beginning something new in ways I don’t yet perceive?
Closing Prayer
Lord of new beginnings,
Thank You for being faithful in every season.
I release what is behind me,
and I open my hands to what You are doing next.
Renew my mind with hope,
and teach me to recognize Your work as it unfolds.
You make all things new—including me. Amen.
Invitation to Live with Truth, Goodness, and Beauty
Each ending is also a beginning. Trust that the God who renews minds also renews seasons. Step into tomorrow expectant, because He is already at work.
