Devotional Reflection
There are moments in life when it feels like all we can see are the ruins of what once was. The past holds us captive, regret weighs us down, and we wonder if things will ever be different. But God is the One who makes all things new.
In Isaiah 43, God reminds Israel not to dwell on the past but to behold the new thing He is doing. He is not just repairing what was broken—He is creating something entirely new. A way in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, life where there once was barrenness.
We often long for change but resist it when it comes. God’s work of renewal does not always look the way we expect. It may come through discomfort, through surrender, through the closing of one door before another opens. But even when we cannot see it yet, He is already at work, bringing forth something new.
If you feel stuck in what was, unable to see what could be, hear this today: God is not done with your story. He is making a way, even now. Open your heart to His new work. Let go of what is behind, and step forward into what He is doing.
Inhale Truth, Exhale Trust
Breath Prayer: (Inhale) Lord, You are making all things new. (Exhale) I trust Your work in my life.
How to Practice a Breath Prayer:
Find stillness. As you breathe in, receive the promise that God is at work. As you breathe out, release your need to control the outcome and trust His timing.
Practical Application
Recognize the New Thing. Ask God to reveal where He is working in your life, even if it looks different than you expected.
Release the Past. Write down anything from your past that still holds you back, then pray and surrender it to God.
Step Forward in Faith. Take one small step today toward the new thing God is calling you into, even if you don’t have the full picture yet.
Journal Prompt
Where do you sense God doing something new in your life? What fears or attachments might be keeping you from embracing it fully?
Closing Prayer
Father, thank You that You are always at work, bringing life where there was barrenness and hope where there was despair. Help me to see the new thing You are doing and to trust You, even when I don’t fully understand it. Give me the courage to let go of the past and step into Your renewal. Amen.
Invitation to Live with Truth, Goodness, and Beauty
God’s work of renewal is already happening—you don’t have to strive for it. Open your heart, trust His process, and step into the beauty of what He is making new.
