Devotional Reflection
There are nights that feel unending—nights of sorrow, waiting, and unanswered prayers. In those moments, it’s easy to believe the darkness will never lift, that joy is out of reach. But the promise of God is clear: joy is coming.
Psalm 30:5 reminds us that weeping is temporary, but joy is eternal. The night may be long, but morning always comes. God does not leave His people in sorrow—He restores, He redeems, and He turns mourning into dancing.
The psalmist also speaks of sowing in tears and reaping in joy. This means that even in our weeping, there is purpose. Our tears are not wasted. They are like seeds planted in the soil of faith, and in time, God will bring a harvest of joy.
If you are in a season of waiting, of sorrow, of holding on for morning to come, take heart: God is faithful. He is working in the unseen, even in the darkness. Hold on, because joy is coming.
Inhale Truth, Exhale Trust
Breath Prayer: (Inhale) Lord, I trust You in the night. (Exhale) I believe joy is coming.
How to Practice a Breath Prayer:
Find a quiet space. As you breathe in, let God’s promise settle in your heart. As you breathe out, release your fears and trust that He is bringing joy in His perfect time.
Practical Application
Acknowledge the Night. If you are in a difficult season, bring your sorrow honestly before the Lord. He is near to the brokenhearted.
Look for Glimpses of Joy. Even in the waiting, ask God to reveal His small mercies and reminders of His faithfulness.
Hold on to His Promise. Meditate on Psalm 126:5-6 and remember that your tears are not wasted—joy will come in due time.
Journal Prompt
Where have you seen God bring joy after a difficult season? If you are still in the waiting, how can you trust His promise that morning will come?
Closing Prayer
Father, in the dark seasons, it is hard to see the morning ahead. But I trust that You are faithful. Remind me that weeping does not last forever, and that joy is coming. Help me to hold on to Your promises and to believe that You are working, even when I cannot see it. Amen.
Invitation to Live with Truth, Goodness, and Beauty
The night may feel long, but God’s promise remains—joy is coming. Hold on to Him, for He is faithful to bring the morning.
